Rooted in the rugged beauty of the Hudson Valley in New York, Solar Generation has been helping our community from the beginning. Our Founders, Todd and Jason, wanted to capture the independent, creative spirit of the region by delivering bespoke first-in-class solar installations, while helping the environment along the way.
Paul, our President, wishes to carry this legacy forward into the next decade and beyond. Paul has lived in the Mid-Hudson Valley for over 20 years, spending the majority of his professional life in renewable and clean tech industries. He, along with the rest of the team plan to carry on their dedicated mindset for the wellbeing of our community. Our goal is to make going solar seamless and affordable. We’re invested in the prosperity of our community through local and global goodwill projects, as well as solar farm project developments within the Hudson Valley.
Solar Generation believes that renewable energy is important and necessary. Green energy is not only about independence and diversity - it’s also about sustainability, saving money, preserving resources, and most importantly, the future generations.

Our Team
Solar Generation designs and installs high quality solar electric systems that power homes, businesses, and nonprofits in Hudson Valley, New York. Our team is known for their professionalism, years of expertise, and responsiveness to our clients’ needs.
Paul McMenemy
CEO
Paul has spent the last 15 years of his professional career focusing on the development and installation/construction of renewable energy projects across North America, including the development of a $30 million bio-energy facility in Ontario, the purchase of integrated organic compost facilities in British Columbia and New Jersey, and a gas-to-liquids carbon capture pilot facility in Alberta. Paul has taken this vast renewable energy experience and turned his focus on the Hudson Valley through Solar Generation and the installation of residential and commercial solar and the development of larger scale solar farms. Paul has lived in the Woodstock area for over 20 years and enjoys watching his three sons play sports or music and hiking the Catskills with his wife Cornelia.
Zachary Schrowang
PRESIDENT & CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Zach was born and raised in the Hudson Valley and brings diverse knowledge and background to Renewable Energy Projects and Development through building Solar Generation portfolios in New York. In addition to his consulting work with several North American ventures, Zach has dedicated time working in Haiti to provide local community members with electricity and training on solar installation. This goodwill project showcases how communities working with their environments and resources can make real change. Additionally, Zach brings systems thinking to his solar designs because he previously worked as an installer; these experiences help him understand the complex processes that go into executing a successful project. Zach holds a BA from the College of Saint Rose.
Brendan Boland
VP - PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
Brendan is local to the Hudson Valley. He enjoys hiking with his wife Veronica and looks forward to exploring the outdoors with his growing family. His long interest in power generation, especially when it relates to self-reliance sparked his career in solar.
Richard Countryman
SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Richard is a Hudson Valley native who is deeply rooted in his community. Coming from a family with many members in the renewable energy industry, he was raised with a mindset of self-reliance and sustainability. Richard joined the Solar Generation team as an installer in 2016 and has played a leading role in building over 100 solar systems across the Hudson Valley and southern Catskills. Now as a salesman, Richard shares his knowledge and passion for solar energy systems with customers while continuing to reshape our energy landscape for the betterment of our planet.
Jenner Michelotti
SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Jenner is a native Hudson Valley resident, and has been in the renewable energy industry for the last six years. His goal is to create a positive impact on our environment and local community. He spends his free time hiking the Catskill High Peaks and is an aspiring 3500 Club Member.
Kelly Costigan
PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR
Native to the Hudson Valley, Kelly has deep connections to the local community. Although a big change from her previous teaching career, she is passionate about solar and renewable energy for our planet. Working on both our residential & commercial development projects, she handles many different aspects of the company. Outside of work Kelly enjoys hiking, going to concerts, and spending time with loved ones. She holds a BA from SUNY New Paltz.
Phillip Leber
PROJECT DEVELOPER
Born and raised in the Hudson Valley, Phill brings a diverse background to his work as SGP’s Project Developer. As a former Political Director, he has over a decade of experience working with governments at the local, state, and federal levels. He now uses this experience to deliver energy security and sustainable economic development to communities across New York State. Leber holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY New Paltz and lives with his family in Greene, NY. He can often be found fishing NY’s beautiful waterways.

Our crew is clean, quiet, and professional. Our installers are not only knowledgeable, they are also incredibly efficient, focused, and courteous. As a result, they have helped Solar Generation achieve the status of “NYSERDA QUALITY INSTALLER.”
Joe
RESIDENTIAL PROJECT MANAGER
Joe has been with Solar Generation since 2019, but has been involved with all aspects of green energy for most of his career so solar was a natural progression for him. In his spare time Joe enjoys gardening, biking and kayaking.
Doug
CREW LEAD
Doug began at Solar Generation in early 2020. He originally got into solar to expand his electrical knowledge and to be a part of such a rapidly growing industry. In his free time he likes to go fishing, kayaking, and camping in the Adirondack mountains. He also enjoys skiing in the winter months.
Ben - Installer
Ben joined the Solar Generation team in 2022 after relocating from Minnesota. Ben graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2021. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, specifically, playing pond hockey, skiing, and snowboarding
