Solar Electric System

Solar Electric System

There are three options for a solar electric system: a roof mount, a ground mount and a pole mounted system.

Roof Mount

For a roof mounted system with a standard shingle roof, solar panels are mounted flush to the roof surface with an aluminum racking system bolted directly to the roof rafters. All points of attachment are flashed with approved equipment. For standing seam metal roofs, we attach the aluminum racking system to the standing seams with S-5 clamps specifically designed for this purpose.

Ground Mount

For a ground mounted system, 2” diameter metal poles are driven into the ground and provide support for the aluminum racking system that holds the solar panels. Generally, these arrays are rectangular in shape and can be oriented perfectly to maximize energy harvesting.

Pole Mount

FA single 6” diameter metal pole mounted to a below-grade concrete footing can support up to 8 solar panels. Any number of poles can be installed on flat or sloping terrain to build an array than can be very pleasing to the eye.
