How a Solar Array Works
Curious how solar arrays work? This diagram shows you exactly that.
Initially, the solar panels absorb the sun’s rays, which is then sent to the inverter. The inverter then converts the sunlight to electricity (DC-AC power). During the summer months, the solar array generally produces more than is needed, causing your meter to run backwards. This extra power makes it so during the evenings (when there is no sunlight) your home still generates power.
