Kunzang Palchen Ling (KPL) Monastery

KPL is a Buddhist center in Red Hook, NY that offers teachings from the rich and diverse Tibetan Buddhist tradition. One of the significant traits of KPL’s activity is providing access to and the preservation of the treasure teachings of Terchen Barway Dorje and the teachings of the Barom Kagyu lineage.

Bardor Tulku Rinpoche has been inspiring people in the Hudson Valley for nearly 40 years through building Tibetan Monasteries and teaching. In 2006, Rinpoche broke ground for an ambitious new Center in Red Hook.

In the summer of 2010, with the help of a New York State Grant, SOLARgeneration was happy to design and install a 20 kW solar array for KPL free of charge. The array helps to power the entire center. Since the installation, our donation has raised awareness in countless visitors and has saved KPL nearly $15,000 in electric bills. In addition, it was through our experience with KPL that we were able to travel to Bardor Rinpoche’s Monastery in Eastern Tibet in the summer of 2011.
